Why this petition matters

Started by Daniel Shaw

Rishi Sunak has revealed plans to temporarily suspend Stamp Duty payments up to £500k in England & NI.

As welcomed as the temporary changes are, thousands of movers who were encouraged to move during and post lockdown have missed out, sometimes by as little as a day! Often taking out high interest loans, borrowing from family or using much needed savings in a period of uncertainty with job retentions and redundancies!

Please sign this petition to do the right thing and backdate the stamp duty charges to cover exchanges during lockdown.
