Why this petition matters

Started by Alexis Martinez

Madera, CA, as a community experienced both a tragedy, and a loss. The community mourns the lost of an innocent two year old whose life was taken by those who were suppose to protect him.  His name : "Thaddeus Sran."  On July 15, 2020, the parents of Thaddeus Sran reported him missing from his Madera home. He was two years old at the time, and had special disabilities. As well as a feeding tube to get the proper nutrients. On July 26, 2020 his remains were discovered by cadaver dogs in a nearby orchard. As the community and local organization gather demanding both justice, and answers. Artist, Omar "Super" heard our cry and wanted to contribute anyway possible. Knowing it wont heal the pain we maderians are feeling, but give to us a safe place where we can go give our respect to the little soul who touched each and everyone of our hearts. He asked local store owners to donate a part of their wall so he can create a mural of Thaddeus. It wasn't long before local  shop owner  (Don Tony) of 107 E. Yosemite building gave permission. We fear as a community without the proper permitting, it may result in the mural being painted over. Although, our City officials, and law enforcement are for the Mural of Thaddeus. We the people of Madera, CA want to ensure that we abide by the proper steps, required to grant a permit. This mural is more than paint. Its the face of a life cut short. We are asking our City Officials to please give us the time, to get the process started, and to help out with any questions regarding proper permitting. We would like for the Mural to stay, so  our community, and those who searched countless hours can go, and pay their respect to little Thaddeus. The little boy we all learned to love and care about. He may be gone, but he will definitely not be forgotten.
