Why this petition matters

Started by Sally Keeble

3,500 vulnerable people in Northamptonshire risk losing their services and 11 leading voluntary organisations risk closure when Northamptonshire ends its public health funding for them in March 2020. No replacement funding has yet been allocated for the organisations that lose out when the £1.6 million Social Wellbeing Contract ends next March. Services provided by the organisations have included: housing support for 346 homeless people, day care for 1,530 people and 1,846 days of volunteering.

This petition calls on Northamptonshire County Council to ensure continuity of funding for the organisations to enable them to continue serving the community.

The organisations: Northamptonshire Age UK, the Autumn Centre, Cath22, Dostiyo, Glamis Hall, Marlow House, Mayday Trust, Midland Heart, Naash, Serve and ACA have written to Northamptonshire County Council warning of the "devastating effect on public services" of their closure.
