“The ParkingEye payment system introduced at ULHT hospital car parks is not fit for purpose. The payment machines don’t work consistently. PCNs are issued in error. The system for Blue Badge holders is onerous and discriminatory. It isn’t user friendly for wheelchair users. Queues to pay cause people to go over the one hour limit & into the next payment band. I could go on.The system is causing unnecessary stress for people who are already stressed. No one visits a hospital for fun!”

Update 1/6/19 - I wrote the above when I started the petition at the beginning of February. Nothing I wrote there has ceased to be true. More people contact me every day because they’ve fallen foul of the system in one way or another. ULHT haven’t acceded to my FOI request to see the full text of their contract with ParkingEye, I’ve made a complaint to the ICO & await the outcome. There are too many ‘glitches.’ Too many inexplicable PCNs. 

The barrier system wasn’t perfect but it was so much better than ANPR via ParkingEye.
