Residents of Burton Joyce have been concerned by recent incidents of criminal activity within our village, some of which have been captured on private household CCTV.

As concerned residents of the village we ask that Gedling Borough Council open a consultation into the introduction of CCTV into the village. Other areas of Gedling Borough have benefitted from the installation of CCTV by Gedling Borough Council, acting as a deterrent to crime, and providing admissible evidence in the prosecution of criminal activity.

We would ask them to consider where appropriate measures could be best installed within the village, taking into account both the benefits to public safety, as well as privacy.
