Why this petition matters

Started by Concerned Citizen

Greg Sanches has faced no accountability for his incompetence. His behavior and arrogance has become more emboldened. Since his 2020 re-election his department has not only beaten an unarmed man , shot a dog for barking and refused to release the video of the incident , settled a lawsuit for medical negligence resulting in death at the jail , been sued for refusing to release public information , refused to properly investigate animal abuse until pressured to do so by a viral response to a video proving the abuse, allegedly refused to answer 911 calls reporting a disturbed individual who then in a drug induced psychosis murdered his wife , allowed a trusty to walk away from the jail and then allowed the warden to boldly state on facebook if anyone had a problem with it they could go look for him themselves , banned a state trooper from ACSO property and refused to accept prisoners from the trooper because of a comment he didn’t like on facebook, remained unable to fill vacant positions in the department despite massive salary increases (for which he blamed the shortages for years), caused division amongst law enforcement and elected officials by leading a vendetta against the county constables to encourage that they were denied a raise that all other county employees received, and so much more.
Greg is not a full time sheriff. He has sold his home in Angelina County. According to his own deputies he allegedly has moved his family to the Dallas area and spends the majority of his week there. We can not get the sheriff to confirm nor deny this but we do know that he is often missing in action.
We are encouraging the district attorney to open an investigation and prosecute the sheriff based on his refusal to release public information.
We demand his investigation , indictment and removal. Please sign to show the district attorney that we are sick of the sheriffs arrogance and incompetence and demand action.

On April 5 2020 atleast 3 Angelina County deputies brutally beat an unarmed man on his own private property at his home. This beating was captured on surveillance video.

The man faced several felony charges that could have resulted in many years behind bars. Luckily, the surveillance video surfaced and proved that the beating by the Angelina County deputies was unprovoked, excessive and unjust.

Sheriff Greg Sanches has publicly defended the actions of his deputies and states that he stands behind their actions 100%.This is the latest and perhaps greatest failure for this unpopular, narcissistic sheriff  .

Greg Sanches’ has a narcissistic attitude. He is unwilling to admit error at any cost. He refuses to improve his policies. He does not provide adequate training for new deputies. The department has a complete lack of transparency and  now a complete disregard for human life. It is unacceptable.

Sheriff Greg Sanches needs to resign or be removed from his position as the Angelina County Sheriff . He can never gain the confidence or trust needed to move forward and overcome the gross negligence that his lack of leadership has inflicted upon the Angelina County Sheriff office.

Please sign the petition. Remove Sheriff Greg Sanches. Begin the reform so desperately needed within the local Angelina County criminal justice system and sheriff department. Start from the top down. Your voice matters.
