On the 7 of May the police in Belgium raided several Roma/Travellers sites, taking away people's caravans (their homes) with everything inside, leaving them without a home, clothing , money and without food for the next day.

We the Roma people understand that criminals need to be brought to justice, but in this case there were arrests of Innocent people and property confiscated without any investigation. 

This is clear violation of human rights that took place right in the heart of Europe. 

We demand a proper investigation and the immediate release of their caravans and personal belongings. Especially those who are not directly involved in the criminal activities who have not been arrested or those arrested and released without being questioned. 

Furthermore, we demand the Belgium government explains why this occurred and why entire communities were punished for the actions of a fraction of people living amongst these camps.
