Why this petition matters

Started by Fair rights For all!!

Isaiah is a very quiet polite young man who volunteered as a EMT and also in the local hospital all during high school. He went to college and continued to volunteer with the habitat of humanity, he graduated with his bachelor and went off to join the army as a combat medic/RN. Anyone who know him loved him.  He also worked as an ICU RN. He accomplished this all by the age of 23.

Last year at 26 years old, he became withdrawn and immersed himself in work, he got involved in a toxic relationship believing he could help, only to find himself slipping deeper into depression.  Having never taken medication in his life, he tried  CBD with cannibus for stress relief only to find himself hallucinating so badly he ended up punching walls, and windows. He described the episode as him trapped in a body that evening that he could not control. That evening he broke alot of property and scared some people, however no one was hurt during the incident except that Isaiah cut his arm when he put it through some glass. The Police at the scene stated Isaiah was saying that he was there because the president sent him there.

He has no other records, and has always done nothing but try to help anyone he can, yet the DA's plea bargain was to have him plea guilty to a Violent burglury 3rd degree charge in which he will serve 5 years for 1 night of insanity in which noone was hurt. Apparently impaired mental health is not a defense in New York and would not stand up in court,  He was told if he didn't take the plea he would most likely have to serve up to 20 years because the DA broke up that evening into 7 different charges adding charges that were not facts. He was actually told by the first laywer that was representing him, that his chances are slim because of his color (honest to God). The second lawyer looked at the case and stated that there was no reason to take the deal, only to take the rest of Isaiah's savings and then advised him to take the plea deal. Instead of Isaiah getting the mental health care that he needed, he ended up taking a plea that will ultimately be a life sentence, as his RN status ends.  Another educated black man stripped of everything, because he wasnt given a chance to go to rehab or get the mental health counseling he needed on his first offense.  Please help me help him get a second chance. We are not saying that night didnt happen, what we are saying is that he needed rehab and mental health counseling, not Prison.   Please sign this petition for a Pardon so he could get his chance to get better, and continue serving his country as a Registered Nurse.
