Improve Mortality Rates & Health Care for Pregnant and Non-Pregnant Black Women
Improve Mortality Rates & Health Care for Pregnant and Non-Pregnant Black Women
Why this petition matters
In the United States, black infants are more than twice as likely to die as white infants. (Villarosa, 2018) According to the CDC, not only black women but American Indian and Alaska Native women are two to three times more likely to die from pregnancy related causes than white women. It can be understood that many of these deaths can be prevented, but why aren't they?
More research needs to be conducted in order to find out why more black pregnant women and other women of color are dying in the United States along with why health care for people of color is nowhere where it should be.
This petition is for black women and other women of color who have had abysmal experiences with the health care system, and future women of color who deserve better.
