Sadly a young child was injured in a road accident outside Richard Bonington Primary School on Thursday 15 October 2020. Urgent action is needed by Nottinghamshire County Council to help prevent a repeat of this tragic incident.

As concerned pupils, parents, staff, residents and local councillors, we the undersigned request urgent action by Nottinghamshire County Council to improve road safety outside Richard Bonington Primary Schhool in Arnold and along Calverton Road, which leads to the school.

At the very least, a safer pedestrian crossing should be installed for pupils, parents and other pedestrians needing to cross Calverton Road outside the school, but the road safety improvements urgently required in this locality must be much more extensive than a safer and enhanced crossing, they must also be implemented as an urgent priority by Nottinghamshire County Council.
