Help us to help them

Marcus Rashford’s excellent campaign has highlighted the desperate situation that many families find themselves in. No child should have to go hungry in a country that is reportedly the 6th richest in the world. We applaud the many local campaigns to help feed young people during half term. Flitwick Town Council is offering free meals for children during half term (Just visit their facebook page). There are many local businesses doing the same. Not all Town and Parish Councillors have the facilities and resources to help in this way. With Christmas is fast approaching, and with the economic fallout from the Pandemic beginning to bite, we would like to launch a campaign to get Central Bedfordshire Council to make full provision over the Christmas holidays. There is Government funding available for this, so the decision to provide the meals is based on a choice. Your Ward councillors need to hear the strength of feeling about this. Please join us in lobbying them
