LGBTQIA+ teens face a unique challenge. When they come out of the closet, many are disowned by homophobic parents/ caretakers. They turn to the streets, often getting sucked into drugs or illegal behavior. These teens deserve a second chance, and community safe houses will provide them the unique opportunity to start over in a positive environment. This will also hopefully lower the suicide and self-harm rate for LGBTQIA teens, which is skyrocketing. Give LGBTQIA teens like me a welcoming place to accept their identities and make them feel like they belong, and lessen the number of teen suicides. 

This should be a goal for every community because the best thing we can all do is make these kids feel included. Getting them out of the streets will make their futures bright. This could potentially save countless lives.
