Help us push Wisconsin Legislators to create explicit legislation prohibiting discrimination based on gender identity, expression, and status. Rather than prohibiting discrimination on gender identity, expression, and status the Wisconsin Republicans introduced legislation to do the opposite. 

These two bills would prohibit transgender student-athletes from participating in organized sports at school, alienating them from their peers. This legislation continues a longstanding tradition of Republican attacks against LGBTQ+ youth who simply wish to exercise the same rights as their peers. 

Not only are these bills harmful to transgender youth, but they are also in direct violation of President Biden’s executive order banning discrimination based on gender identity including in school sports. This legislation also goes against the advice of high school sports associations, the NCAA, and the International Olympic Committee (which has allowed transgender athletes to compete for two decades). 

Children deserve to be treated fairly and should be allowed to partake in sports regardless of their gender identity, gender expression, and status. Instead of working to strip the rights from our children please turn your focus to COVID relief for struggling Wisconsinites.
