Why this petition matters

Started by Vanessa D

we the families of those who are incarcerated are pleading for help. We are asking that the Governors of every state within the united states, to issue out the proper attire to all inmates to protect them from COVID-19. We are also asking non-violent offenders to be released on home confinement to finish out their sentences. We are also requesting an early release for inmates who have done 90% of their time. During this time of COVID-19, these inmates should be separated from those who are positive with the virus. The inmates should not be in solitary confinement but in a separate housing and not on lockdown in the same dorm or cell with other inmates who are positive. They need to get the proper medical treatment and medication that they need to survive and not to be locked away in a cell with other inmates left to die like some animal. We are asking that they obey the Care Act that was set in place. These are not just inmates, but someone's brother, sister, father, mother, and family member and should not be ignored and left to die.
