Why this petition matters

Started by Cheyanne Winckler

Trump has taken trans people’s rights to healthcare. If I transition, I can’t get any sort of healthcare. I’m FtM, and since this whole law has been repealed, I can’t transition to who I am. This is not only ridiculous, but insulting. As an 18 year old, who has just been given some freedom, I deem this repulsive. This is an insult not only to me, but to the rest of the trans community. I am sickened by this. This goes for so many people who are trying to become who they truly were meant to be. Now, we can’t. I can’t become the man I am. Even if I’m trans, why doesn’t my life mean the same thing to him as the life of a cis person? I believe we should be seen as equal, not different. I’m a gay trans man trying to do what’s right, and if I can’t do that, then, by god who am I? I am not going just sit here and moan and groan about this while doing nothing about it. I’m going to do something about it. If this means having to do more than it’s worth in the president’s eyes, then I shall push even harder. I will not stand for this injustice any longer. I will not go unheard. I will not been seen as less than. I am who I am. If you don’t like it, you won’t get rid of me. I’m here to stay. I’m tired of the silence. I’m standing up for those who can’t. I’m standing up for those like me. I’m standing up for everyone who never could. I’m tired of staying quiet. I’m tired of the silence, so I’m going to talk about it.
