Support Hawaiʻi's vulnerable medical cannabis patients during the COVID-19 pandemic!
Why this petition matters
Hawaiʻi, along with the rest of the world, is currently experiencing an unprecedented health crisis with the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Hawaiʻi's Governor David Ige has signed multiple Executive Orders designed to protect Hawaiʻi's citizens and manage this crisis. Unfortunately, legal medical cannabis patients of Hawaiʻi have been left out of these protections.
Medical cannabis patients by definition are at higher risk to falling severely ill due to COVID-19 because of underlying conditions such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, and other serious medical conditions.
The State of Hawaiʻi has denied multiple requests from physicians and the Cannabis Industry to:
1) Provide curbside pick-up of medicine so vulnerable patients do not have to unnecessarily expose themselves to the potential virus
2) Allow patients who are trying to be certified to use medical cannabis in Hawaiʻi be certified via tele-health option as they are no options to see their doctors face to face.
With hundreds of patients statewide left to suffer without their medicine they are once again being treated as second class citizens and kept away from their legal physician approved medication.
