Campaspe Shire Council has decided to remove the Eyre St school crossing in Echuca East. They claim the crossing is underutilised although 20 children an hour use this crossing with over 100 cars recorded passing by per hour. This will save the shire approximately $33,000 (across 2 crossing, Eyre Street in Echuca and one in Rochester) however could cost a life. 
The safety of our children and families should be the shires priority, not saving money. Please join us in expressing your disappointment in this decision, your concern for our childrens safety, and your support for keeping the crossing open!
