Exemption for post March 18th COPR holders
Exemption for post March 18th COPR holders
Pourquoi cette pétition est importante
Mr Prime Minister
Since March 18th 2020 the federal government of Canada has implemented travel restrictions to all COPR holders outside the US and with no relatives in Canada after this date. They are not allowed to land to validate their permanent residence.
Although some exemption has been made for family members, students, U.S residents and health workers, no exemption has been granted for post-March 18th COPR holders.
Many of us have resigned from our jobs, sold our houses, some have their funds frozen, their kids out of school hoping to land in Canada before the end of 2020.
And here we are today nearly a year after the restrictions were raised and nothing from IRCC, visas and COPR are expiring or have already expired.
What is most frustrating than seeing your golden pass expiring, is to see how slow the process of updating approved immigrants about their situation is handled by the IRCC.
Our request is to remove this restriction, or add an exemption for post March 18th COPR holders, extend our visas, renew our documents.
We will comply with all the procedures to ensure that we don't compromise the health situation of our new homeland.
We are exhausted from the wait and see policy that is used by the IRCC. Please consider this request at the earliest.
Best Regards
