Why this petition matters

Started by Caitlin Goerlich

1 in 4 people have a disability in the United States which makes up 25% of the population. So why aren't there any disability options in Bitmoji and the new Facebook Avatar???

I was editing my Bitmoji and realized “wait – I’m in a wheelchair…my Bitmoji should be in one too!” BUT there weren’t any wheelchair options. I was upset because in reality, my Bitmoji is not a true representation of who I am if there is no wheelchair. Then, I noticed there aren’t any options for any kind of disability: amputee, deaf, blind, dwarfism, etc.

It would be nice for us, the disability community, be able to represent ourselves better by having a wheelchair, a prosthetic (or a missing limb), hearing aids, service dogs, canes, walkers, breathing tubes, crutches, and so on. The options are ENDLESS.

So Bitmoji, please give us more options for better representation of those with disabilities!

AND NOW Facebook has joined the party of having avatars on their social network. But noticeably missing are...you guess it! Disability options! So, I have edited this petition to include them.
