“Zambia does not have a constitutional crisis but an economic crisis” John Sangwa (State Counsel and Constitutional Lawyer). Bill 10 is ill conceived and does not have the consent or blessing of the majority of Zambians. It seems more like a political manoeuvre Than a genuine ploy to enhance good governance. 

We the people of Zambia reserve the right to give ourselves a constitution and it is not the responsibility or preserve of the few. Therefore we demand that the President, the Minister of Justice and the Cabinet of Zambia immediately withdraw this contentious Bill if indeed they are acting in the best interest of the nation. 

Zambia will not cease to exist if this Bill is not enacted and there are far more pressing issues that the government should be concentrating on addressing than changing the constitution at this moment in time. 

We have the judiciary to help us interpret any confusing acts therefore it is unnecessary to change the constitution which was signed barely 3 years ago. 

The constitution is a sacred document that should not be changed at the wind of political whims.

Therefore We the People of Zambia demand that you Withdraw Bill 10 IMMEDIATELY!!!
