We ask the Leaders and Educators of Wantagh School District to break your silence and raise your voice in support of Black Lives Matter. Speak up and stand in solidarity with those who are pushing back against racism and white supremacy. 

It is long past due that we come together as a district to take responsibility, hold ourselves accountable, and strive to do better.

Your students, alumni, and their families want to know what actions you plan to take in order to cultivate a better and consciously anti-racist community.

We are asking you to release a statement that includes the following:
1. Use of the words “Black Lives Matter”
2. Acknowledgement of your shortcomings
3. An outlined plan to work towards weeding out the institutional racism at Wantagh Schools that includes providing your students with the materials and resources they need to educate themselves through points of view that diverge from the white American narrative

We want to know what actions Wantagh School Administrators are taking to make sure that their students and teachers are not simply "tolerant" members of society, but anti-racist ones.

Hire more black educators. Teach your students about white privilege. 

Use all your power as educators to inspire change.
