The disc golf course in Druid Hill Park is a destination for outdoor recreation, and its community is thriving and diverse. The course is well maintained with complete amenities including concrete tee boxes and maps for each hole.

In contrast, the disc golf course around Lake Montebello is underutilized due to its poor infrastructure. Tee boxes are worn dirt, signage is non-existent (so hole and course layout is difficult to determine), and many baskets need replaced. As a result, this course is not a common resource for local residents or the disc golf community.

Covid has brought about a new awareness regarding the role of outdoor recreational amenities in community health, and funds are available to enhance such available opportunities. Therefore, this petition asks Baltimore City elected officials to fund the enhancement of the Lake Montebello disc golf course such that it is commensurate with the course in Druid Hill Park.
