1950s women have fought for 6 years to get the Government to realise the impact that raising the State Pension Age for women to 66,has put many in poverty and bad health.In the last 5 years 110,000 women have died before reaching their new pension age. These women have protested in London,Manchester and all round the country, but the media has blocked all action being reported.They have written in their thousands to their MPs ,Prime Minister and newspapers,but they have been silenced.3.8 million women have been affected,and have always said,that they didnt know about the change to their state pension age.In July after losing 2 court cases,based on Discrimination,the Parliamentry Ombudsman finally said that the DWP were guilty off Maladministration.The Governments response has been shocking.!! They said that the 2 court cases supported the DWPs actions, but that is irrelevant as the Parliamentry Ombudsman investigation was about Maladministration. They found that the DWP DID NOT FOLLOW THEIR OWN GUIDELINES,and they knew that women were unaware they had to work an extra 6 years before they got their pensions.They sat on that information for 2 and a Half years before informing them !! Many have had to sell their homes,sofa surfing  at friends ,living on benefits etc,this has had a bad impact on their mental health as well as their physical health.Some have committed suicide,and many are on tablets for their bad health.We are calling on the Government to pay compensation to the women affected by SPA increase,in light of the investigation ,by the Parliamentry Ombudsman,which has found the DWP GUILTY of MALADMINSRATION !!
