ADOPT OR SHOP: THE CHOICE SHOULD BE YOURS. We, the undersigned, hereby assert that we oppose pending legislation in the Town of Riverhead (Chapter 207), which would completely prohibit the sale of dogs and cats in pet stores. We work to fight against any County or Municipal level that would prevent prospective pet owners from purchasing dogs or cats, including purebred or designer breeds, from pet shops or breeders regardless of their family's needs (allergies, special needs child, small living space, etc) and would only allow adoptions of animals deemed rescues. This would take away freedom of choice from the consumers who want to provide homes to these animals. Animal lovers must be able to ADOPT OR SHOP when finding their new best friend.
