We've been noticing that there are some issues with Scooter and Moped street parking. We applaud the use of these vehicles offering a green alternative to full-size cars, however, we have some concerns:

• They are often parked too close to cars (Most often because there is not enough space between cars)
• Cars cannot move without almost knocking over the 2-wheelers
• Solution: Give 2 wheeled vehicles a safe spot to park

We would like DOT to initiate a study on designating areas currently marked “No Standing” at street corners (in order to give car and truck drivers an unimpeded view of traffic, also known as “Daylighting”) for Scooter or Moped parking only. This makes the best possible use of valuable street parking for everyone concerned, as long as safety is not compromised.
