Wattpad plays ads at the end of most chapters per book, similar to other entertainment websites such as YouTube or Twitch. However, the only way Wattpad writers can be paid for their work which is literally giving Wattpad an audience and therefore money, is by bending over backwards to become a paid story which means the general public must pay per chapter. This is completely different from any other entertainment company that pays their creators though add revenue and in some cases, donations. If paying all creators is too difficult for Wattpad then perhaps they could introduce a program that writers could elect to join in which they can be paid for their works
