Retain Telemedicine for Ohio's Medical Marijuana Patients
Retain Telemedicine for Ohio's Medical Marijuana Patients
Why this petition matters
The State of Ohio has permitted the use of Telemedicine for Ohio patients from March, 2020 through December, 2021. As Ohio Medical Marijuana Physicians and Ohio Health Care professionals, we believe Telemedicine should be retained on an ongoing basis, under circumstances that allow for excellent standards of patient care and convenience. In the realm of medical marijuana, these circumstances can include validating a patient's diagnosis, renewing an existing patient's medical marijuana card, seeing a patient for a follow-up visit, evaluating a patient's ability to effectively and safely use the products, and in many cases, diagnosing a patient's medical condition(s).
Telemedicine has enabled excellent standards of care for many Ohio medical marijuana patients, across a range of medical conditions and circumstances. It has been especially beneficial for patients who are too ill, immunocompromised, indigent, lacking in time for an office visit, or distant to be able to visit their physician in person. Without Telemedicine, many Ohio patients would not have received adequate care.
We are committed to providing excellent care to the patients of Ohio and believe that Telemedicine is an important enabler, under appropriate circumstances and with responsible management.
