If there was ever a time where the world needed a show like Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist it would be right now. 

Reading a recent interview with creator Austin Winsberg, I saw where he talked about the journey of Zoey and her powers. She got these powers to help her learn compassion and empathy. To see beyond the endless 1s and 0s. She saw that the world was so much more than black and white. 

And even in the season finale this week, we saw more. By hearing these heart songs, Zoey (and by extension us as audience members) sees that the people around her have problems, struggles, hopes, dreams and so much more to them than she would have ever seen without these powers. 

The second season finale aired on May 17th and we sit without answers. Will there be a third season. Will we find out what happened after that cliffhanger? 

I sure hope so.

The world desperately needs a show that reminds us all that while we can't hear their heart songs, people have a variety of struggles, problems, hopes, and dreams. We're all different but that unites us. This show teaches compassion and empathy to its main character and as a result, we get weekly reminders of it.
