Our Earth is dying and we need to save it! Right now the Exploris 8th graders are working on their DFC (Design For Change) projects. Design For Change is an environmental water quality projects that eighth graders have to do to create change in their community. DFC has four stages: feel, imagine, do, and share. Right now we are focused on the imagine stage which is when you come up with ideas for how you will create change. Riley, Ashley Glen, Jack, MaKaden, and Baker are eighth graders participating in this project and their focus in Climate Change. They have created an energy pledge for everyone to sign. It is important that we are knowledgeable of this so we can have a better, cleaner, and more sustainable future. Attached is their energy pledge, you are encouraged to sign it and try to make your home more energy efficient! By signing this pledge/petition you agree to doing 3 or more of the actions on the pledge.

Energy Pledge:

1. bike, walk, or take the bus as much as possible
2. recycle as much as possible
3. lower thermostat 3 degrees in the winter
4. compost food waste
5. use LED lightbulbs
6. raise thermostat 3 degrees in the summer
7. seal windows and doors to reduce energy leaks
8. reduce idling in my parents or my own vehicle
9. reduce waste by using reusable products
10. carpool if possible
