Why this petition matters

Started by Mipham Shedra

Mipham Shedra is a non-profit organization founded to preserve and promote the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. We are asking the people of Colorado to show their support for our land-use application for our meditation center which will allow us to continue hosting our weekly public meditation classes and occasional retreats and events (if you live locally in Westminster, please click the link to our other petition at the bottom of this page.)

We believe that Mipham Shedra is a valuable piece of the fabric woven into our community in many ways--it gives people a place to practice meditation, to learn about the philosophy of Tibetan Buddhism, and to connect with their neighbors--all based around the goal of becoming more peaceful and compassionate people. But even if you never step foot in our center, we hope that it will bring benefits to everyone living in the neighborhood for years to come.

By adding your signature to our petition, you are stating that you are a resident of Colorado, and that you encourage the Westminster City Council to approve our land-use application (the proposed center will be 900 square feet with a maximum capacity of 45 people.) Please sign our petition and help us show how many people in this state support our cause! Any personal comments will help tremendously.

If possible, consider attending the City Council Meeting on Monday, January 27th at 7:00pm to express your support. The more people that show they value community and diversity in Westminster, the better! The meeting will take place at 4800 W. 92nd Ave. Westminster, Colorado.

You can visit www.miphamshedra.org for more information.

Thank you for your support!
