Focus bracketing on Sony Alpha cameras
Focus bracketing on Sony Alpha cameras
Perché questa petizione è importante
Sony has given us a wonderful new generation of Alpha mirrorless cameras, equipped with super fast and consistent autofocus, eye focus and real tracking, all paired with state-of-the-art sensors and highly configurable controls.
Many of us who bougth cameras of this new line (or are thinking about), however, feel very disappointed for the incomprehensible lack of an important and simple-to-implement feature, currently available on many (even entry-level) cameras from several competitors: focus bracketing.
While the last generations of Alpha cameras, by the Play Memories environment, had access to a basic implementation of this feature, current buyers are left to experiment with third party insufficient hardware-software solutions.
Such a function may be extremely useful in several photographic fields, such as landscape and macro photography. Specifically, an in-camera solution based on the shifting of the focus point by the internal autofocus is easier to accomplish and generates less artifacts than the movement of the camera body by a micrometric rail or other solutions.
A basic in-camera focus braketing function should at least allow the selection of a starting and an ending focus points (also selectable by touch), the number of shots to be taken between them (or the size of the step size) and the time interval between these shots (in order to allow the use and recharge of a flash unit).
Confident that Sony will promptly answer the plea of its loyal customers, we ask for a revised firmware containing such a feature for all cameras unable to use Play Memories applications.
