Referring to people as minorities fosters an immediate conception that one group is superior to another.
In addressing racism and seeking equality we have to start on an equal footing and stop referring to people in inferior and superior terms. We are all equal as human beings from the human race and have different skin colours.
Using the word minority to describe anyone only serves to remind one group they are less than or more superior to another.
Words hold meaning and should be used to empower not constantly serve as a reminder that you are less than anyone else.
The very nature of racism by its design is to dehumanise and treat another human being as less than based on the colour of their skin being different. So we don't need to be called minorities anymore if we are genuinely striving for equality.
To redress inequality and challenge racism let us begin with just referring to each other as Black, Asian, Mixed-ethnicity, and White people as we are all equal and belong to one race the human race.
