Recently, SEGA Japan made a tweet saying that they will collab with double jump.tokyo to start selling NFT digital contents from Summer 2021 onwards.

If you don't know what Non-Fungible Tokens are, here's a brief explanation given by Hikariviny on Twitter:

"NFT is a type of cryptographic token that lives on a blockchain network that represents a unique digital asset. This asset can either be entirely digital assets or tokenized versions of real-world assets.

But has a huge impact in the environment."

Basically, as more tokens are generated, the machines that power the blockchains that store these tokens take up a lot of energy, and emit a lot of carbon dioxide, making it dangerous for the environment.

Also, many artists recently on Twitter are against this system, as their works are being auctioned without their knowledge, and this is considered as art theft. 

If we can discourage the use of NFTs, not only will it be beneficial for the environment, but it will also give artists a relief that their work will not be stolen and/or sold for profit.

We can save the world, and freedom of expression.

 This petition is not only for SEGA, but for other companies as well. We would appreciate if SEGA joins us and discourage NFTs too.
