Join us as we deliver this petition to 10 Downing Street

On Monday we will be heading to 10 Downing Street to deliver our petition calling for a Final Say on Brexit.

Well over a million of you have signed up, adding your names to our call for a full, public vote on the most important political question for a generation. It is time to make clear to the prime minister that the people want and need to be part of the Brexit process. One snapshot was not enough. Every signature counts so please continue to share the petition among your friends and family.

We now know beyond doubt what kind of withdrawal agreement the government has been able to negotiate. And it is already clear that the deal is facing a barrage of criticism from both sides in the Brexit debate. It will inevitably leave Britain poorer. Did people vote for that? Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t. There is only one way to find out. Given that we now have so much more knowledge than we did in 2016, it is imperative that the public is given a chance to confirm whether to proceed.

As has become painfully apparent, this is not a matter which should be left to parliament.

MPs will vote on Theresa May’s deal in a fortnight. The numbers do not look good for the prime minister, with around 90 of her own MPs publicly declaring that they will vote against it.

May has been instructing her lieutenants to begin the mother of all whipping operations to bring her recalcitrant MPs on board, but she knows even this will not be enough.

If her deal is blocked by parliament, as seems likely, then the UK will be in uncharted territory.

Only by giving people a Final Say on Brexit can we know with confidence how the country feels about our relationship with the EU.
