Why this petition matters

Started by Stacy Renee Eden

Breonna Taylor's Law, an ordinance passed unanimously in Louisville, KY last year banning No Knock Warrants that are not only causing both citizens and law enforcement to lose their lives, but is also fostering an environment of distrust and lack of respect for human life.

No Knock Warrants were banned by the Florida Supreme Court back in 1994. The only other state to follow suit since has been Oregon until all 26 Louisville Council Members unanimously passed Breonna Taylor's Law in June of 2020 banning No Knock Warrants and requiring bodycams to be functioning and filming. This is a bipartisan issue that undermines the safety of our communities, homes, law enforcement, and clearly violates the 4th amendment to reasonable search and seizure.

Passing Breonna Taylor’s Law as a Phoenix city ordinance is an invaluable opportunity for the state of Arizona to set a powerful precedent. Thank you for your time and consideration.
