WE WANT FULL TRANSPARENCY!! WE WANT AN EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM IN RELATION TO THE NSW COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS!!

Gladys Berejiklian and Brad Hazzard, it's evidently clear based on the comparison between the severity of Covid-19 and detriments caused by lockdown orders, the measures undertaken by the NSW government in handling the pandemic reflect political incompetence void of political reasoning and logic.

We want the NSW Government to produce an Explanatory Memorandum explaining the rationality behind enforcing Covid-19 Public Health Orders. The NSW Government owes us the duty of service as parliamentarians, not the science community. Lockdown measures and mandatory mask wearing were enforced last year, the NSW Government has had ample time to prepare an Explanatory Memorandum since the end of last year's lockdown up until late June this year.

The excuse that this outbreak is an emergency and a matter of urgency, warranting the bypass of an Explanatory Memorandum is inadequate. The ending of last year’s lockdown in NSW did not indicate the end of a global crisis. NSW has not been immune from another potential outbreak, the NSW Government should have diligently prepared for an outbreak in accordance with legislative making protocols and procedures.

The truth is that most people who've sought the covid-19 vaccination from late June onwards did so in order for the lockdown to end, as Gladys Berejiklian promised everyday since the start of this lockdown. Fast forward seven weeks into lockdown, Gladys Berejiklian goes on to say that even if the vaccination rate reaches 80%, lockdown and restrictions will still be enforced based on the number of active cases in NSW. Now that NSW has gained momentum on its way to reaching the threshold she changes the narrative. Why? No new information regarding the delta variant has emerged since the beginning of the outbreak so why didn't she say that restrictions are based on active case numbers from the very start? WE WANT FULL TRANSPARENCY!! WE WANT AN EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM IN RELATION TO THE NSW COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH ORDERS!!
