Why this petition matters

It is to bring in notice to all of you that in one of the reply to RTI filed , IIM Lucknow had allotted 48 seats to the EWS category students. But now due to internal sources it is being acknowledged that they have reduced the seats given to economically weaker section students to as low as 24 or maybe even lower than that.

While the EWS candidates called for interview were 312.

That is exact half of the seats already planned to be allotted!

While the RTI clearly stated that full 10% reservation for EWS category.

Is this the way to acknowledge the hard work of economically weaker section of the society?

All of us should raise our firm voice regarding this unjust approach by IIM Lucknow.

The government had taken a great step in order to lift the economically backward general category people by introducing some reservation for them in education and government jobs.

But that step has reduced to be just another step only, as we are not getting the proper benefit of that. We are being lied by some IIM regarding the seats ! Giving us false hopes and thus destroying our expectations to study in one of the quality higher institution of INDIA!

The RTI proof is attached with this petition. You can verify the seats that they have said to allocate to EWS category. But now they are reducing it by half or even lesser in numbers.

I would request all category people to please come forward in signing this petition for the upliftment of economically backwards of our society.

Thank you!
