Why this petition matters

Started by Sweet Pea Foundation for MBD

Countless reptiles and amphibians are being severely harmed and becoming sick and disfigured as a direct result of chain pet stores selling harmful products.

These products include:

1. Zoo Amex Tropical UVB & Heat Lighting Kit, 2. Zoo Med ReptiSun UVB Compact Fluorescent Reptile Lamp)

These products provide drastically incorrect levels of UVB lighting which result in animals becoming sick with this painful disease.

Chameleons are especially at high risk because they are very sensitive creatures that must have the correct levels of UVB at all times and these products not only fail to deliver that but they display a picture of a chameleon on the box. This false advertising makes the products look like they are safe for and to be used specifically with chameleons.

To learn more about the horrific impact these products are having on these helpless, innocent animals, please visit the link below: Sweet Pea Foundation for Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD)

Countless animals now must suffer the permanent damage this disease causes. Their owners are left wondering why their pet is sick or dying and often have to seek expensive medical treatment for them. All of this can be 100% prevented, simply by asking pet stores to eliminate the sales of these harmful products and instead provide the proper ones to their customers.

Join us in the fight to eliminate metabolic bone disease in reptiles by getting these harmful products off pet store shelves. Please sign and share this petition NOW! Your voice counts and together we can make a big difference for these vulnerable animals and their owners! Thank you!
