ACB Wants To Preserve FIRE STATION 6 On Ridgeway Rd As THE VILLAGE HALL!
Why this petition matters
The Crystal Beach Secondary Plan has rezoned the area which could allow for the removal of the historic Fire Station 6 and be replaced with a three story building. This would not only change the feel of our community but it would eliminate yet another opportunity to benefit our residents. We want to preserve this building and memory of the fire fighter volunteers who have given so much to the community.
ACB Has A BIG IDEA
To purchase Fire Station 6 (FS6) on Ridgeway Road in Crystal Beach. It will be vacated in the Spring of 2022 when its fire fighters move into their new facility/headquarters on Ridge Road in Ridgeway. In June, an online survey was distributed in our village via social media as well as hard copies for people without internet access. More than 400 residents responded enthusiastically and there were at least 100 replies for funding, volunteers and donations. We are currently in talks with the Town to allow us to negotiate for the purchase of FS6 before it goes on the open market in 2022. Fundraising is currently underway.
THE VILLAGE HALL would greatly benefit people of all ages in Fort Erie. There is a definite need and it would be open to everyone for recreational activities, information, instruction, and social connection without any affiliation to a specific group. ACB predicts that with population growth there will be an increasing demand for recreational services and meeting places.

Advancing Crystal Beach was born when a concerned group of residents came together in 2015 to form a not for profit, charitable organization. Its mission is to work together with local residents, visitors and businesses to create infrastructure, services and events that foster community connections and cohesion.
