Spelthorne Borough Council have ignored their own guidance on local community involvement in the review of planning applications within the borough.

They have endeavoured to keep the White House planning application for a homeless hostel out of the public domain by relying on the limited statutory planning requirements instead of a concise public consultation.

A precedence must not be set allowing the council to ignore its own guidelines at the detriment of local communities.

The need for community involvement is fundamental to the democratic process by allowing local communities to be actively involved in the key planning decisions that affect them and their families.

This development will cost Spelthorne £4m and its planning application is supported by poorly researched, misrepresentative and factually inaccurate documentation and requires immediate cessation.
