To the Secretary-General of the United Nations,

Mr. Antonio Guterres,

We are addressing this petition to you, to the international community, and to the people on this planet to reiterate the following: the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani and his companions during the course of a diplomatic trip on January 3, 2020 in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport in Iraq was an unethical and illegal act against international norms: one that requires legal prosecution, accountability, and a determined retributive response. Accordingly, we would like to draw your attention to the following:

1. General Qasem Soleimani has been an international figure. His popularity amongst Iranians, and the nation’s mourning his death stems from his life-long service and sacrifice for global peace. His grand and glorious personality has nevertheless made him a highly popular figure beyond Iranian borders. He was admired by people who were in danger of bullying, aggression, and assassination in West Asia, the Middle East, and other regions of the world.

 2.  General Qasem Soleimani was a prominent figure whose beliefs and endeavours played a major role in eradicating terrorism from the face of the world. His sacrifices saved lives and brought safety and security to countless people in countries such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon. His actions also significantly prevented terrorism from spreading to and damaging other parts of the world such as Europe, East Asia, Africa, and even the United States. Given the reigns of terroristic groups such as ISIS and Al-Nusra in the past few years, the world undoubtedly owes the defeat of such groups and the return of the world peace to General Qasem Soleimani. Currently, with the assassination of the most prominent figure against terrorism in the Middle east, there is a high probability as well as a fear of the recuperation and the return of armed terroristic groups such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda.
3. General Qasem Soleimani was officially  invited to Iraq by the Iraqi government for a visit. His assassination, which is killing an official representative of a country who was on a diplomatic mission by a third country, means nothing but the United States abusing its power. 
4. The government of the United States and its president have claimed the responsibility of this assassination while it has been decades that the people of the Middle East have been suffering from the United States government’s inhumane policies and actions. Coups, assassinations, aggressions and occupations, supporting dictators, looting the resources and the wealth of nations, and blatant sieges have always been how the United States operates in West Asia, in the Middle East, and in the other regions in the world. 
 5. A vigorous response is a sign of justice and we strongly demand a fitting punishment for the United States, Donald Trump, and the terrorist forces who played a role in this assassination. It is expect from the United Nations to defy the perpetrators of such a crime and punish the government of the United States for their terroristic act.

برای شما، جامعه جهانی و مردمان کره زمین می‌نویسیم که تاکید کنیم 

ترور سردار قاسم سلیمانی و همراهان او در در جریان سفری دیپلماتیک به تاریخ سوم ژانویه سال ۲۰۲۰ در نزدیکی فرودگاه بین‌المللی بغداد در عراق جنایتی غیراخلاقی، غیرقانونی و خلاف موازین حقوق بین الملل بوده است که نیازمند پیگیری، پاسخگویی، واکنش جدی و مجازات عاملان و آمران است.

به همین منظور لطفا به نکات زیر توجه کنید:

۱. سردار قاسم سلیمانی چهره‌ای بین‌المللی بوده است. محبوبیت سرشار او بین مردم ایران و سوگواری ملی که در فقدان او شکل گرفته است ناشی از عمری خدمت و مجاهدت در جهت تامین امنیت جهانی است اما شخصیت بزرگوار و عزتمند او محدودیتش را به فراتر از مرزهای ایران کشیده بود و در غرب آسیا، خاور میانه و سایر نقاط دنیا دل وجدان‌های بیدار و مردمانی که در معرض آسیب‌های زورگویی، تجاوز و ترور بودند را ربوده بود.

۲. سردار قاسم سلیمانی 

مبارزی بود که تفکر و تلاشش نقش اصلی در پاک‌کردن تروریسم از چهره زمین داشت. فداکاری او به تامین امنیت، آزادی و نجات جان انسان‌های بی‌شماری در کشورهایی نظیر سوریه، عراق، افغانستان و لبنان انجامیده بود و به طریق اولی از نفوذ و خسارات جبران‌ناپذیر تروریسم در سایر نقاط جهان از جمله اروپا، شرق آسیا، آفریقا و حتی ایالات متحده آمریکا پیشگیری کرده بود، بدون شک در سال‌های گسترش تروریست‌هایی نظیر داعش و النصره تامین و بازگشت امنیت جهانی مدیون اوست. در این شرایط و پس از ترور مهم‌ترین چهره‌ی مبارزه با تروریسم در خاورمیانه، بیم و احتمال فراوانی از بازگشت و تجدید قوای داعش، القاعده و گروه‌های مسلح تروریستی نمایان شده است.

۳. سردار قاسم سلیمانی به دعوت دولت عراق و برای یک بازدید رسمی در این کشور حضور یافت و ترور او کشتن یک مقام رسمی در یک سفر دیپلماتیک توسط کشور ثالت چیزی بجز سواستفاده از قدرت توسط ایالات متحده، معنایی ندارد.

۴. دولت ایالات متحده و شخص رییس‌جمهور این این کشور در شرایطی مسوولیت ترور سردار قاسم سلیمانی را به عهده گرفته است که دهه‌هاست مردم خاورمیانه اسیر سیاست‌هاه و اعمال غیر انسانی این دولت هستند. کودتا، ترور، اشغال و تجاوز، حمایت از دیکتاتورها، غارت منابع و ثروت مردم، و سلطه‌جویی آشکار رویه‌ی همیشگی ایالات متحده در غرب آسیا، خاورمیانه و سایر نقاط دنیا بوده است.

۵. پاسخ کوبنده نشانه‌ای از عدل است و ما قویا خواستار برخورد سخت و مجازات دولت ایالات متحده آمریکا، شخص دانلد ترامپ و نیروهای تروریستی که در این جنایت نقش داشته‌اند هستیم. در این برهه از سازمان ملل متحد توقع آن می‌رود که  با بی‌کیفری عاملان این جنابت مقابله کند و اقدام تروریستی دولت آمریکا با مجازات پاسخ داده شود.
