Why this petition matters

Started by Robert White

All recreation drone users in Canada had to pass an online basic exam to fly a drone for fun in our own backyard. If you pass the exam you receive a drone pilot certificate that expires in only two years' when our two years is up we can not just pay the fee and renew our pilot certificate' we have to rewrite the basic exam again to fly any drone that weighs between 250 g and 25 kg. This is not fair we passed the small basic exam and we should not have to pass it again. I can understand renewing our certificate'  but I don't think it's fair for those of us out in the country in a rural area to have to write the exam every two years. This is not fair to any of us that obey the drone regulations' but Transport Canada uses the handful that does not obey the regulations to punish the ones that do. So I say it's time to have these rules changed ' I know their has to be safety measures in place and Transport Canada has done that with this new rule of taking an exam to get a pilot certificate to legally fly a drone with a weight of 250 g and 25 kg. These drones are not toys and we know that' we know we just can't fly a drone where ever we want or even when we want if the weather is not good for flying'  it is called common sense and if we did not have that we would not have passed our basic exam in the first place and would be paying a fine for flying with out a pilot certificate because that's what the people with no common sense do'  but those of us that wrote and passed the basic exam and have a certificate should not be made to rewrite the exam every two years. Please Change these unfair rules.
