Since Apple introduced the Thunderbolt 3 / USB C ports on the MacBook Pro laptop computer, many customers have had issues with the ports becoming loose and if the laptop is even slightly shifted then it will stop charging and external devices will disconnect.  This can cause major issues like data corruption for the improper disconnection of external hard drives and potential early battery depletion due to the constant on and off power cycles.
