Michael Collins was an explorer, pilot and astronaut who paved the way for future space exploration. He played an extremely important role in the Apollo 11 moon landing by staying in the command module in lunar orbit. Through his endeavours he has inspired thousands of people and because of that I believe the upcoming Lunar gateway, which will orbit the moon, should be named after him. I propose calling it the Collins Lunar Gateway as a tribute to Mike and his amazing work as a NASA astronaut. Maybe he didn’t step foot on the lunar surface but without him that “small step” would’ve never happened. I urge NASA to consider this name as a reminder to the future generations of his contribution and so the, “forgotten astronaut” will never be forgotten.
