Wests Tigers one home ground at the new SFS
Wests Tigers one home ground at the new SFS
Why this petition matters
Wests Tigers fans have been homeless for 20 long years. The club has finally resolved its front office and board issues and has achieved some key milestone such as stability in the playing and coaching staff and the construction of the Centre of Excellence at Concord.
This is not about losing our heritage. We should always host select derby games each year at Leichhardt and Campbelltown. This is about providing our club with the room to grow at a location accessible by all fans with Corporate facilities that are second to none. If Wests Tigers fans embrace this move we will quickly host bigger crowds than the Roosters or other potential tenants.
The Club is headed in the right direction on and off the field one final critical issue remains outstanding, where is our home. A move to the state of the art new Sydney Football stadium at Moore Park in 2023 will mark a new beginning for the club and will bring to a close a long and sometimes painful period in the wilderness. Wests Tigers represents all of Sydney from Glebe to Campbelltown and with a brand new stadium at the crossroads of billions of dollars of state government investment in road and rail we will truly be able to come together as one. Not Wests or Balmain, but the Wests Tigers. The sleeping giant.
