Why this petition matters

Started by Little frog

The whole city of Helsinki has been in lockdown due to COVID-19 for almost two months now. All clubs are still closed with no knowledge of when they will be allowed to open their doors.

For some people, the club is a significant part of life and the closure of clubs has had a major negative effect on people's state of mind. It has created depression and anxiety and made people feel like a significant part of life has gone missing. Without knowledge of when the clubs will open, people will feel hopeless.

But what about the entrepreneurs? Their income has suddenly dropped and they also have no idea when they can reopen their business. This feels horrible for the entrepreneurs who are enterprising and who have been brave enough to start their own business. The government can not keep the clubs closed infinitely.

On 14th of May all primary schools are going to open around Finland and some schools have even up to a thousand students. Why the clubs can not be opened with a limit of 200 people, for example? As a result of the closure of clubs, people suffer mentally. It can create more serious problems than the virus itself. People are dying mentally.

Due to the change of strategy of beating the virus, the second wave is very possible. Some places are reopening, which of course increases the number of cases. So now that restrictions are easing why not open the clubs at the same time? When the second wave comes there will be another closedown. If the clubs can not open their doors now then when can they? We can not live a limited life forever.
