Why this petition matters

Started by Julian Saunders

Tom Watson was a recorded at times as a lazy MP and  was incredibly divisive within the national Labour Party. He nominally "represented" West Bromwich East - which remains a dirt-poor constituency - but poisoned the local Party in Sandwell which remains in a state of civil war. In an effort to grab headlines he credulously believed weirdos and paedos launching blistering attacks of the vilest kind on innocent people. He hounded Leon Brittan right up to his death - and then had to be forced to make a nasty mealy-mouthed apology to his widow. He pressurised the police to spend vital resources on his fantastical claims and was criticised for his (mis)conduct in the recent Met Police report of Sir Richard Henriques. His achievements in public life, if any, have been minimal. It in impossible to think of a worse candidate for an honour and the taxpayers' expenses that go with a peerage - which he is likely to claim most liberally.
