Why this petition matters

Started by The Minneapolis Civil Rights Museum Project

On May 25, 2020, George Floyd’s death sparked civil rights protests across the world. Three days after his death, the MPD 3rd Precinct was overwhelmed by protesters and burned down. Now we will build an everlasting civil rights landmark in its place to remind us that together we can change the world.

The Minneapolis Civil Rights Museum Project is a multiracial community of individuals who are driven to create a permanent symbol of justice for racial equality on the grounds of the MPD 3rd Precinct.  Our growing army of volunteers and partners donate their time and expertise to make this modern day civil rights landmark a reality.

A conscientious group of community members, architects, lawyers, planners and designers have already committed their efforts to start the vision for this landmark monument.

We need your input, vision and support to make the Minneapolis Museum of Civil Rights a reality.  Share the petition, share your thoughts, and share your influence to help turn the tide of police violence and honor George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and other victims of police brutality.
