Why this petition matters

Cattle Rearing like every other livestock business is a private business and should not be carried out at the expense of the lives and properties of others. This is the way of life of the Fulani tribe for decades, which have led to several conflicts in the past between them and farmers. This whole conflict have been taken to another level with the election of a Fulani man as president in 2015. The Fulani tribe became more daring, blood thirsty and damn all consequences when moving with their herds. They sometimes go into towns and sack the aboriginals by killing them in hundreds to create space for their cattle to feed on farmers crops. They sometime send letters to communities to evacuate their farm lands for them to feed their lives stocks or face the consequences of getting killed, kidnapped and raped.

The government pays deaf ears to these killings and is forcing us to give away our ancestral lands. Nigeria is a multiethnic country filled with diverse languages who are into livestock business just like the fulanis but don't move their herds around to the extent of killing people for their livestock. Why can't the Fulani tribe embrace ranching like other tribes?

If this petition is approved, it will save lives due to the constant Genocide perpetuated by the herders as they roam about feeding their livestocks, it will also reduce food shortage as the clash have led to so many farmers fleeing their farm as the cattle feed on their crops, leading to inflation and food scarcity.
