This petition has been set up to highlight the unfair procedures for NQT's engaging in the Droichead process this year. At the beginning of all this the Teaching Council stated that "no NQT would be at a disadvantage due to the Covid-19 Pandemic." As of yesterday, the 22nd of May 2020 their directive saw that a large percentage of NQT's in the process would actually be left disadvantaged. The fact that student teachers were signed off from doing their final inspection; Yet teachers who have been employed and have been working tirelessly since the beginning of the pandemic and continue to do so have been told that these days count for nothing in regards their probation. We would like for this to be overturned and grant those who have been working and engaging in the Droichead process for any amount of time to be probated and be able to move on in their professional career for September 2020.
